With faint fire clouds dappling the exterior. Approx. 8.5'' h x 14.75'' dia. CONDITION: Wear commensurate with age to include chips, scuffs, and possibly restored crack near the base. |

1412 | JOHN BULL PAINTED FIGURAL BLINKING EYE CLOCK: This cast iron figural Automaton clock depicts a John Bull character holding a clock dial at his belly. The dial sits behind a glass door and bears Roman numeral hour indicators. John Bull is polychrome decorated and stands on a graduated rectangle base. When functioning, his eyes blink along with the escapement action. Movement signed, C. Jerome. Attributed to Bradley & Hubbard. Illegible tag at the underside. Approx. 16'' h x 8.5'' w x 7'' d. CONDITION: Wear to paint. Glass at dial door is held in place by tape. Some replaced screws. Not currently working. |
