The interior marked Size 8.5 with maker's mark. The sole also marked ''SBWE / Susan Bennis Warren Edwards / Made in Italy''. The heel measures approx. 2'' h; the boot itself approx. 11.75'' h. Sold with copy of a 1996 Neiman Marcus letter of authenticity.
CONDITION: Excellent condition with gentle wear.

The base features two drawers, one lined & compartmented, having brass pulls with pierced heart cutout. Over two paneled cabinet doors with brass escutcheon pulls and copper strapwork. The upper section boasts carved winged griffins supporting upper shelving with the carved upper backboard having a satyr mascaron in high relief flanked by scrolled foliate adornment. By the middle of the century, Jeanselme had become one of the most important cabinetmakers in Paris as well as Fournisseur du Mobilier de la Couronne (Furnisher to the Crown) under Louis-Philippe. The bezel-set cabochon-cut star sapphire weighs approx. 19.15 cts. and displays as translucent, high dome with a 6-ray star, blue in hue. Accented by 16 marquise/round native cut rubies weighing approx. .55 cts. rated VS in clarity. The knife-set rubies contrasted against white enamel & surrounded by 144 round rose cut diamonds weighing approx. .36 cts, rated VS in clarity and H-I in color. With a bar pin closure having a French patent mark ''Brevete Sans Garantie Du Government'' on the clasp. Circa 1900/1915. Approx. 1'' l x 1.25'' w. and weighing 13.3 gms.
