18TH-C. ENGLISH INLAID CHIPPENDALE CHEST ON CHEST: An English George III Chippendale mahogany tallboy / chest-on-chest having a dentil carved cornice over diamond inlaid frieze. The upper portion having five drawers in four rows. The lower portion with a pull-out writing surface over three full, stacked drawers. All dovetail joinery drawers with ornate cast bale pulls & brass escutcheons. Canted & inlaid corners, all on bracket feet. Approx. 75.75'' h x 44.5'' w x 23'' d.
CONDITION: Wear commensurate with age and use including small portions w/ loss of wood/trim, esp. near lower drawer of upper portion & top drawer of lower portion, and cracks/loss in the frames surrounding the drawers. Scattered scratches & scuffs. Affixed paper to sides of drawers.
