EARLY LOUIS XV PERIOD ORMOLU MOUNTED MARBLE TOP COMMODE: A remarkable French Louis 15th commode tombeau topped by a beveled marble surface over four dovetailed drawers in three rows, bedecked by thick gilt bronze figural escutcheons, heavy bale pull handles, & mounts including ornate female bust espagnolettes at the shaped corners that lead to large acanthus leaf ormolu mount terminals. Stunningly veneered. Approx. 35'' h x 53.5'' w x 24.25'' d.
CONDITION: Small areas of chipped veneer along base of bottom drawer and along lower edge of apron; veneer lifting in small areas esp. to right of middle drawer and at frame to the right of center drawer where there are short splits/lifting. Oxidation to brass trim around upper portion. Missing centered ormolu mounts, three total.
