AMERICAN INDIAN NAVAJO HAND WOVEN WOOL RUG: This fine example of pre-World War II native weaving uses both natural and dyed wool with a field crowded with different design motifs including what we now call Swastikas' in gray on a red ground. These designs have also been referred to as pinwheels and are an ancient symbol for eternity, not the evil connotation from war time. The stepped black lines have sometimes been linked with lightning bolts, or mountains or rivers. The diamond edge border in red, black and white tell us that this is a 20th century weaving as most earlier rugs had no borders. Measures 4' 5'' x 6' 4''. CONDITION: Condition is very good. |

TWO HARDCOVERS ''THE JUNGLE BOOK & THE SECOND JUNGLE BOOK'' BY KIPLING: Early Copies of ''The Jungle Book'' and ''The Second Jungle Book'' by Rudyard Kipling. The Jungle Book is an 8th printing from 1899, and the Second Jungle Book is a stated second printing of 1895. Both published by MacMillan and Company with beautiful blue cloth with gilt designs, lettering, and page edges. CONDITION: Overall, very nice condition with the Second Jungle Book having a little slant to the spine, and a scuff to bottom left cover. The Jungle Book has toning to the tissue overlay over the frontispiece. Both have some corner bumping and older pricing and an owner inscription on front free flypapers. Both are tightly bound with clean pages. Great copies! |

Small size; 2) Decorative canoe in green fabric with various color beads and beaded fringe. Measures 3'' h x 9'' long; 3) Ojibwe purse? in purple/pink fabric with grey fabric trim, beading and hook & eye closure. Measures 4'' h x 6'' w; 4) Firm fabric ''pillow'' has ornate beading on one side as well as a beaded fringe. Measures 7.5'' h x 10.5'' w; 5) Ojibwe child's moccasins measure 4.75'' l. CONDITION: 1) No condition issues noted; 2) Loss of some beading, fabric has shredded in a couple of areas; 3) Beading on the back side of the purse appears to be mostly in tact while the edges and fringe have noticeable bead loss. Fabric has some holes throughout; 4) Fringe shows significant bead loss while main body of beading appears to be in tact. fabric shows wear/thinning; 5) Moccasins show normal wear with 2 .25'' in the back of one of the moccasins. No loss of beading. |

These are a Version of the Arthurian Legends from ''Percival Le Gallois, ou le Conte de Graal'', which is an 1866 transcript from the 16th century original. This first edition was limited to 200 British copies, and 50 American ones, of which this is numbered 101, 1898 on the title page with no other edition listed. Published by J. M. Dent and Co. 3/4 Morocco, paneled spines with gilt lettering. 305 pages in Volume 1 and 298 in Volume 2, about 7'' x 4 1/2''.
