4 AGATE, Alfred Thomas, (Washington, D.C., 1818-1846): Miniature portrait on ivory, 3" x 2 1/4", accompanied by a diary of the subject's travels. Agate was one of three artists to be selected to accompany Lieutenant Charles Wilkes on his historical expedition, which set out to explore Antarctica, the South and Central Pacific, and the Oregon coast.
4A MINIATURE PORTRAIT ON IVORY OF MARY, QUEEN OF SCOTS: Encased in ebonized frame, with oval gilt metal trim, 2 3/4" x 2 1/2", titled verso, ca. 1860.

5A 19TH C. HAND DRAWN MAPS AND MAP CASE: 3 maps. one of Ohio, one of parts of South America, and one of what is now Central America. Map case was made by John Chamberlain Holden to carry his hand made maps to the classroom to be used by his students. Also in this great estate find is the school certificate earned by his grandson in 1888. The case is 9 3/4"l. x 1 3/4"dia. Sold as a lot.

8 19TH C. AMERICAN PRIMITIVE O/B'S: These beautiful primitives seem to be of the highest quality, although they are unsigned. They are on wood panel, mounted on a gold colored wood panel background. Each piece measures 17 1/2" x 7 7/8". Both pieces have very minor wear and tear, with the summer scene having 2 minute chips and a bore hole in the mini-scene. The detail in both paintings had me scouring the surface for a signature or hidden monogram, simply for the fact that these are done so well. Est. $300.00 - $500.00**
