1086 | EARLY 20TH CENTURY DENTAL CABINET: This cherry cabinet with maple interior has an internal mechanism locking most of the drawers when the master drawer is closed (key not available). Made by The American Cabinet Co. It belonged to Dr. Clinton W. Strang who practiced dentistry on Main Street in Bridgeport from 1893 until 1915 when he moved to Cannon Street and probably had this cabinet made for his new office. The original work order, dated March 1915, is attached to the underside of one of the drawers. Approx. 48.25'' h x 36.5'' w x 16.5'' d. CONDITION: Scattered loss & wear consistent with age and use. |

Born in 1954 in Berlin, Germany of an American diplomatic family. Ralph went high school at the American School of Paris, France and Ankara High School in Turkey. He was a nature, tennis, and art lover and learned oil painting from his mother and was completely self-taught. He viewed the world through his own lens and was fiercely anti commercialism. He did not want to compromise his artistry by showcasing or selling his art an never sold a single painting during his lifetime. Ralph passed away of health complications in June of 1999 and to this day his family has kept his art completely private. CONDITION: Light scratches on the canvas. |
